This course covers the basics of rigging and signal person requirements. As part of this course participants will learn a brief history of OSHA standards with respect to rigging practices such as rigging inspection, load angles, uses and limitations of various types of slings and rigging hardware as well as the basic hand signals that are used for crane operation. This course also focuses on the requirements established by ASME B30 standards as they apply to cranes, rigging and hand signals. Participants will also learn some basics about crane setup and operation to be able to identify proper use of cranes and rigging to help reduce improper setup. This course does not meet NCCCO training and testing requirements.
